Palio By Karndean - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Palio by Karndean?

Palio by Karndean is luxury vinyl flooring. It’s not like typical vinyl. It doesn’t come in rolls or sheets, and it doesn’t need to be glued down.

Instead, it comes in robust, pre-cut planks and tiles. Our highly realistic designs look just like the wood and stone materials they’re inspired by. But unlike wood and stone, Palio flooring is easy to fit. All you need to do is simply click or lay it in place.

What is Palio by Karndean made of?

LVT is made with a series of layers; the stability layer helps the product to lay flat and level, whilst still being flexible enough to cut through with a knife. The HD photographic layer gives every Palio by Karndean product its highly realistic design whilst the PVC wear layer protects the floor’s design from everyday wear and tear, and our enhanced PU surface treatment provides added protection.

Is Palio By Karndean slippery?

As with most smooth floor coverings, water and other liquids can make it slippery. Palio By Karndean floors are designed to be slip resistant, but it is always best to clean up any spillages straight away, and keep the floor dry.

What is the difference between each of the Palio By Karndean ranges?

Each Palio by Karndean range has its own unique set of benefits, making them all perfect for non-specialist fitters:

  • Palio Clic uses a click-locking system, without the need for adhesive and comes in 12 designs (eight wood and four stone).
  • Palio Core also uses a click-locking system, without the need for adhesive but includes a rigid core to make it easy to install over uneven subfloors (up to 3mm in any 3m diameter) and reduces impact noise to rooms below by 19dB. It is also available in 12 designs (eight wood and four stone) as Palio Clic.
  • Palio LooseLay uses a friction-grip backing which helps hold the product in place, and is easy to replace individual planks and tiles if they become damaged. It is available in 14 designs (ten wood and four stone).

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you look at a sample of any product you are considering before placing your order.
